The Artisan of Peace
The Artisan of Peace is an advanced Mediation and Human Development Consultant qualification. There are four steps in the qualification:
- Human Development Consultant
The candidate must have a certificate in some methodology of human development, including experience in psychometric instruments.
By "methodology of human development" we mean one or more of the following: a recognized certification as coach (personal or professional), a diploma or degree in counseling, psychology, or psychotherapy, a certification as a trainer in human development. This type of qualification is often in using one of several commercial or professional psychometric instruments.
Examples of "psychometric instrument" are: Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), the Strength Deployment Inventory, DISC, FIRO, etc., ie the commercial instruments, or MMPI, NEO, ... A university course in psychometrics, education testing and measurement, etc. is also welcomed.
A pre-requisite for being admitted into our programme is to be certified as a mediator in your home country. Check in your country to see what the requirements are. If you only need a 40 hour course in mediation skills, then our programme will be sufficient to qualify you in your country (the US, for example). Please check the requirements carefully. Germinal Knowledge does not accept responsibility for acceptance in your country.
In our qualification, you will go beyond your basic mediator qualification to obtain certification in "Mediation of Conflict in the Workplace" and further training in other special applications (family conflict, inheritance conflict,...)
Our certification of mediator of conflict in the workplace is proposed by Germinal in our role as representative of the Mediation Training Institute (see www.mediation-training-institute.com ). This qualification includes a certification as a trainer of workplace conflict, which enhances your offerings as a professional mediator.
- Level I "Artisan of Peace" certification
This two day qualification includes a survey of psychometrics, validity and reliability, of models of the human personality and the instruments used to measure them. A significant component is a review of the theory of conflict, anger management and conflict resolution. The subjective nature of self-reporting personality instruments will be thoroughly discussed.
- Level II "Artisan of Peace" certification
This three day qualification is a survey of various schools/theories of psychology including pathology and some principles of treating personality disorders. Our objective is not to train the participants to practice psychology or psychotherapy, but to use some of the techniques and information of the psychologist to recognize and deal with difficult cases in the workplace. Emphasis will be on the most difficult type of client that the Artison of Peace candidate may encounter in the practice of our role as human development consultants.
